Homologacion de Titulo

How is the legalization of educational documents (diplomas) for Spain carried out ?

In Spain, the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain (MSI) (Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovacion) is doing this. The confirmation process can take from 6 months to 2 years.

The MSI does not confirm the diploma itself, as a document, but the qualification in it, whether it corresponds to a university title in Spain.

Such a procedure is called Homologacion de Titulo.

Qualification is confirmed only if the training courses taken in a Russian university are fully consistent with the training courses of Spanish universities. This course matching procedure is called Convalidacion de Estudios.

After passing the procedure for recognizing the conformity of educational subjects, these subjects can be fully recognized in Spain, or partially recognized and you need to listen to a certain number of hours, or not be recognized at all, in which case you need to listen to the full course.

But before submitting documents to the Ministry of Science and Innovation of Spain, documents must be prepared, legalized (legalizacion de diploma). First of all, it is necessary to affix an apostille on the originals of educational documents. If the documents are issued in the Russian Federation, the apostille can be affixed only on the territory of the Russian Federation. After confirming the authenticity of educational documents and affixing an apostille, it is necessary to translate into Spanish. The surname and name in the translation must be indicated in the same way as it is written in the passport of the owner of the document (if the surname has not changed). The consular department of the Spanish Embassy in Moscow submits the original educational documents, their photocopies and translation. Documents are drawn up in accordance with the requirements of the consular department.
